I take it you are atlking about Sendmail clientmqueue.
DON'T delete this, sendmail use this for the MTA process.

WHy do you want to delete it, are you going to use sendmail at all on the server. If you definately sure you won't ... you can remove it yes.

I am obviously missing your real question here, but given the info you posted, that is the answer for now ;-)

18Gb!!!
Are you sure your server is not sending spam? You should check the contents of the queued messages and your logs to see why you have such many rejected messages.
By default messages should be cleaned 5 days after remaining in queue.
Anyway you can stop sendmail, rm the contents of the directory and restart sendmail, or use this tool for the same.

Hi,

it seems that your server can't deliver mail to some destinations. Sure your system is used as a mail server? Or is it some Linux server where sendmail is normally active to deliver local mail, for logwatch or some like this?

Are you sure you're running sendmail? Because there is a postfix directory in your /var/spool. I suspect that you've replaced sendmail with postix and that's why that mail remained in clientmqueue. If that's the case you can delete the whole clientmqueue directory

Btw if you're running sendmail you need to run
Code:

mailq -Ac -v
to see the clientmqueue contents.
