Rhythmbox mp3 mp4 support
Hi,
I installed fedora 12 in my laptop (HP -pavilion). I tried to play music using rhythm box. It is playing only .wav and while i try to play mp3 or m4.a files it is logging an error saying that i need additional gstreamer plugins to play those. I tried to sort our .mp3 issue first. Upon googling, I found that Quote:

Well that certainly should work. rhythmbox stays running in the background when the main window is closed, so you'll need to ensure it's totally properly closed and reloaded before it'd be able to pick up the new packages.

Sorry Chris, that is not working, I have rebooted my laptop after installing those.

have you had a read through mjmwired's page ?
for f12 http://www.mjmwired.net/resources/mjm-fedora-f12.html http://www.mjmwired.net/resources/mj...a-f12.html#mp3 the good/bad/and ugly ( good B movie - i have it on dvd ) should do it but it looks like you missed "gstreamer-ffmpeg" unless the mp3's are opining in the default totem player, that will ask you to go to the FOR PAY - to buy$$$ the codecs web site |
