RHEL5 - Mplayer & VLC installation problem
Hi Guys,
I have problem regarding installation of Mplayer and VLC player on RHEL5.Some one suggest me, how to install these players on standalone machine.I have tried some default players in linux and this was giving some error msg during playing MP3 and videos. And suggest me which one is the best way to run Videos and MP3 on RHEL5. Thanks and Regards, Vinay |
The default players shipped with Red Hat distros (RHEL/Fedora/CentOS) have not enabled proprietary codec support for patent/copyright reasons. The best way to get MPlayer is to build it from source. They have some tutorials on their documentation page for how to accomplish this. (see http://www.mplayerhq.hu)
