RHEL5 desktop crashed

Dear All,

My desktop got crashed.

Error is:-
could not open location 'file ///root/desktop'
There is no default action associated with this location.

I tried fixing this by running below commands:-
update-desktop-database
Ran successfully

update-mime-database /usr/share/mime
Ran successfully

killall nautilus
nautilus: no process killed

This problem started when i was trying to configure xserver(xhost +) and vncserver..

Please advise

Can I suggest a change of tack and urge you NOT to run X as root in the first place? There is nothing you can not accomplish by logging in as a normal unprivileged user and using su or sudo to become root, including gui apps if you really really have to.

the location should be

Code:
#cd /root/Desktop
as you have written /root/desktop
Is it a typing mistake?

I don't see any thing useful in the logs as I am not too good with this but generally it happens when you try to modify some package and the dependency gets affected
