Firstly, I don't think there's a Redhat 'for lab purpose', you purchase the software, and you get enterprise grade support from Redhat. If you did not purchase it, uninstall then choose either CentOS, Scientific Linux, or Oracle Linux.

Edit:

I personally prefer CentOS. BTW, Fedora is also a choice.

you will have big issues with 6.1
the current in the 6 version is 6.5

contact redhat sales and tech support
-- the support you bought with that required support contract you paid for

RHEL 6.1 is dead:

Quote:
In Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, EUS is available for the following minor releases:

5.2 (ends March 31, 2010)
5.3 (ends November 30, 2010)
5.4 (ends July 31, 2011)
5.6 (ends July 31, 2013)
5.9 (ends March 31, 2015)
In Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6, EUS is available for all minor releases released during the Production 1 Phase, but not for the minor release marking transition to Production 2 or any minor releases released during Production Phases 2 or 3. Each Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 EUS stream is available for 24 months from the availability of the minor release.

In Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6, EUS is available for the following minor releases:

6.0 (ends November 30, 2012)
6.1 (ends May 31, 2013)
6.2 (ends January 7, 2014)
6.3 (ends June 30, 2014)
6.4 (ends February 28, 2015)
6.5 (ends November 30, 2015)
you can get the full detailed list from RH directly at:

https://access.redhat.com/support/policy/updates/errata

if this is for a lab, then you need to talk with the professor as they should have some sort of internal server to register against, if they truly are using such an old release of RH.

If that is not the case, then I would encourage you to look into CentOS 6.5 as it is 100% free as in free beer, and bit wise 100% compatible with RHEL.

also note that CentOS has a longer official supported life cycle then RHEL base:
