RHEL 5.0 issue Trying to mount to a writable CDrw

I've installed RHEL5.0 OS using CD/DVD/WR. I am able to mount a CD and read data from it, but can not mount the CD to write to it. Can anyone help. The cdrom and cdrw is pointed/linked to /dev/scd0

Thanks

You can't mount a blank CD under Linux, anymore than you can under Windows. If you need to write data to it, use a burning program like K3B. Windows has software (like EasyCD), which make it LOOK LIKE you can use it like a drive, but you're not. You're writing it to a temp file, and when you hit "eject", it writes the data to it.

Thanks for your help!!!! The K3B works great...I originally tried to mount the /dev/cdrw in the terminal (command line) and was getting errors such as "read only & unable to write to the CD". I all so tried the X-CD-Roast 0.98aphal5 application and also was unable to write to a CD..
