RHEL 4.9 Beta Update??

It seems like RHEL 4.9 ISO are not available and redhat confirms that we need to update RHEL 4.8 to RHEL 4.9.
Any idea how to update it?
Is ISO available?

Yes, you contact RedHat support, and they can help you. If you want RHEL ISO's, they're the place to get them. And, they can help you with upgrade instructions too, since you're paying for RHEL support.

If I was you, I'd do a fresh install of the latest RHEL, instead of upgrading one old version to another.

A beta release? (meaning free to try/use as long as the beta period is valid)
or.. what?

secondly.. beta's are never useful for production usage..(and support is based on as is.. hence it's a beta.. )

anyway.. fresh install of the latest version is an option, though..most likely costs a license fee in your case...

Generally you can update between minor versions ie 4.8 => 4.9 fairly seamlessly; see first item here https://access.redhat.com/kb/docs/DOC-2531.
I wouldn't recommend going for a Beta version though ...

I just ran :

#update2 -u

It did installed the updates as I am having the subscription with redhat.
But still I dont see my uname or cat /etc/issue showing anything about RHEl4.9.
Even i cross-checked RPM and it have RHEL4.8 package specifics.

any idea how gonna I know if its updated version.

I would suspect that you would have to activate the beta channels BEFORE you run the update, in order to see the beta stuff.
