RHCSA study material

I've been reading that the Michael Jang books are the best, but my question is should I wait till the new one comes out in Feb or is the 6th edition still valid? I see both say EX200, but I can't find any info if the test is/has changed format at any point.

Any help would be much appreciated.

The list of skills tested in the exam is at http://www.redhat.com/en/services/tr...tor-rhcsa-exam. I would think that the main differences between 6 and 7 are
  • starting services: RHEL 7 uses systemd, which is very different from the way it was done in RHEL 6. But perhaps not that different at the level that is tested.
  • grub2 in RHEL 7 versus grub legacy in RHEL 6
  • network management: RHEL 7 may use different interface names, uses a better NetworkManager and has tools like nmcli.
From memory: One subject that seems to have been taken out is LUKS (filesystem encryption).

I passed the RHCSA exam for RHEL 6 without any problem, only based on Jang's book. If you feel confident that you can learn the three above points independently, for example with the help of https://access.redhat.com/documentat...prise_Linux/7/, you can risk it.

Sander von vugt has a book for rhcsa v7. His study materials are normally really good as well. He does however leave a slight bit more leg work for the reader to do compared to Jang which just gives examples and excercises. But the theoryside of things vugt gives you the important stuff without mumbling about many things. I think Jang has good books and is probably better suited if you have no experience on linux systems, Vugt is good if you don't want to read a lot of paragraphs padded to get a word quota.

Sander Von Vugt's RCHSA/RHCE book is found here: http://www.amazon.com/RHCSA-RHCE-Cer.../dp/0789754053. I'm using it to study for a certification as well. Good luck to you!
