RHCE EXAM TASKs
 

i wanted to know if RH033 RH133 and RH253 books are enough for RHCE Exam for RHEL 5 ............. secondly is RHCE certification is enough to get a good job or 1 should be MCSE or CCNA besides that ???

I haven't taken the test yet but from other forums most people who used the Jang Osborne book have done well.
Smmes that the trick is to do the labs in the book until you can do them in your sleep. Setup multiple RH servers and break them, fix them etc.

Not having taken the RHCE I can only say that the path to RHCE shows taking the courses you mention.

As to certifications required for a good job the answer is two-fold:
1) Certifications alone are seldom enough - most employers look for experience over certifications especially in UNIX/Linux jobs. Someone with 5 years experience and no certification is likely to get a job over someone with 0 experience and 20 certifications. You need to look into entry level positions. If you're any good you'll rise quickly because talent is valued.
2) Which certifications (if any) are required (or desired) depends much on what you're doing. As a pure UNIX/Linux admin I would never bother with CCNA or MSCE. However some jobs at smaller shops combine many hats into one and might value someone who had all 3 as they can't afford "specialization".

I would differ with that on an issue. Number of certifications for me would not matter. It is not at all necessary to get all the certifications there in the market. You want to get RHCE. Get it and do not forget what you learn. Certifications do boost your career graph and can give you edge over others but that is not all you need. What you need is the knowledge of the subject. RHCE will cover the basics of RH linux. It will never try to make you a guru. It will teach you most of the servers. But in real life you might not even maintain some of those. You will need knack to learn new things when they are needed. And once you have some experience, master some technologies like mail servers, web servers or like what you think interests you most. That will always take you ahead than the certifications. Certs will only help in starting off the career, with experience in your hand they wont matter much.
