RH9 to Fedora Core 1 upgrade hangs at boot

I upgraded from RH9 to Fedora and the box now hangs at boot. It doesn't always hang in the same place, sometimes it's during ssh init, sometimes it's at inetd init, etc. RH9 ran with no issues, and I haven't changed any hardware. Once it hangs, I have to hard reset the machine to reboot. I checked the Fedora CDs, and they all passed the integrity check.

I'm new to this, so any guidance would be appreciated.

try booting into runlevel 3 or 1 .

Turn off the service(s), you believe are the culprit.

1 by one turn them back on, and reboot.

When the machine hangs, you know a combination of 1 or more network services is hanging the machine.

Then youll have a start path for troubleshooting.
Upgrade to the newest version(stable) of that service and test it again.
From what youve explained it sounds like a network(deamon) problem.
