RH9(not the enterpreise one) or Suse?

Hi everyone,

Could anyone advice this about which destribution to chose?

What I want from linux for now is to get familiar with it and develop some web pages (I do it on windows atm but I want to expand my horizons to linux)

So what I mainly need for now is:

Apache with PHP module and eventualy Go-Mono module to play arround
PHP / Html editor

Internet Connection sharing to windows PC's

Maybe down the road try run some windows programs and play arround abit with windows games in linux :P

My hardware is Asus GeForce FX 5600
Asus A7N8X-X Board (has onboard ethernet)
SB Live Value (sound card)
Intel 10/100 network card

Thanks in advace

SuSE I feel is more stable.

Redhad has shifted there focus. They no longer support Redhat and you can not get updates or patches. They are going in the direction of corporate enterprise which may mean things will not be free any longer.

If you are going to run Redhat get Federo at http://fedora.redhat.com

Mandrake 9.2 is nice.

Have not tried Slackware but it is one of the highly favored and I believe most downloaded.
