Is this on a laptop? cause I had the same problem and it turned out that when I used a usb mouse it shared the same IRQ with my keyboard, and after a few min it would become disabled. so I switched to using a ps2 mouse solving all my problems

Kernel Panic
Some error or conflict occurred and the kernel panic.
You can take a look at the /var/log/messages file, all errors are logged by time and date.

That's a good question.
Anything related to Error, Fail, Failure, etc... in the X service.
Also,
- Are you using any USB devices ?
- Have you upgraded any RPMs lately, right before the problem occured.
