RH9 and laptop modem
 

I have a Dell Inspiron 8200 laptop with an Actiontec modem. I've just installed RH9 and the install went well. I ran Internet Configuration Wizard to attempt to connect to the internet, the configuration wizard didn't detect the Actiontec modem. In WinXP my modem is set up on COM3 and I set the modem (which is listed as Generic Modem under the hardware "tab" since no modem was detected) to /dev/ttyS2. When I try to activate the modem connection it just hangs and states it's attempting to activate. I never hear the modem dial (I have modem dial volume set to high and my sound works properly). Can I use the Generic Modem to connect or do I need specific support for the Actiontec modem? If someone could point me in the right direction it would be appreciated, thanks.
