RH wont boot
Need help here pls!
I just installed Linux Redhat 7.3 on my system at home and cant get it to boot into Linux from the HDD or the Boot disk you make. I have a 60Gb HDD, OS installed are Win2k and 98SE on Primary. My harddisk are partitioned thus: c: 10Gb Primary Partition I big Extended Partition of 37.5 GB with 3X 10 GB and 1X7GB in this, as logical drives. I left the last 9.75GB free on my drive to install Linux to. So I installed Linux on the last part of the drive from the install CD it said it would be on /dev/hda3. Rebooted with the floppy I created and no go. I wanted to see if I could get it going so I didn't install LILO. I can get to the partiton from the CD and its all there. Any help would be appreciated pls. Thanks :) |
Try booting from your install cd and when you get the boot prompt enter
linux root=/dev/hda3. Press <ENTER> and see if it boots up rh 7.3. |
You can make a root floppy. If you put a small linux version on a floppy and boot it, then you can mount all partitions on the harddisk.
This way you have at least access to your new partitions. |
