Hi everyone,

I picked up 'Beginning Red Hat Linux 9' from Wrox, and put together a basic system from a friend's old computer. Minimal hardware, meaning 48MB Ram, 1.558GB Hard drive, so I tried a minimal install just to see if it worked. Not.

The computer seems to be in a continual reboot loop, no matter what I do. Trying the boot disk doesn't help.

And whereas while I have read on a google search that I should be able to get to the BIOS using F10, all it does is allow a boot from the CD-ROM. Which is nice, since that's the only way to get RH 9 to load and 'install'.

Totall , so if you have any suggestions, please let me know.

Here's a bit more information. I just tried using a full distribution CD set from Red Hat, and it went through the installation fine until the end.

Install exited abnormally - received signal 11

etc.etc.

you may safely reboot your system.

So, what does signal 11 mean?
