rfkill anyone?
 

Hi, I am getting a really annoying daemon I guess popping up each and every time I try and connect to my wifi, after each reboot at least now. Right after I enter all creditials and the systems connects to my wifi, "rfkill has disabled the wifi" or something.

The rfkill man page only helps by letting me do "rfkill unblock all" and then I can connect. The man page says nothing about turning it off at all for good? This happened once in Xubuntu and in Aptosid it always does.

Anyone know a service that handles it I can disable or something?It's just annoying and a bit rude actually and until I find a reason for its existence and development, I am perturbed towards its developers (listed at bottom of man page)

Kind of a clumsy approach but you could set as a cron job to run every minute. I did a quick google search and it seems you are not alone. Allot of Ubuntu users seem to have issues so maybe worth the research.

Cool, I got lucky and in the second search result, I found the solution. You just enter the command in the /etc/rc.local file and it will always run when it's needed.

You know, something is causing this, be it SELinux or AppArmor but ever since about Ubuntu 10.10 maybe or Debian Squeeze became stable, I've noticed no matter what that after each reboot wifi is turned off and its annoying to have to tick the enable box each time to turn it on. Before that time, you could just click on the network manager widget and the wireless scan access points were there to choose from.
