Exclamation Retrieve a text file?

Ok, so now I downloaded this thing onto my computer [forget what it's called] that keeps memory of what I type. Well I was on a page for too long so when it refreshed I lost everything I had typed. Does anyone know how I can access the memory of the text file thing? I don't know where to look.

You could at least supply the name of the program you were using!! You need to help us with informative content, in order for us to help you with informative solutions.
