Restore vfat disk


All data looks like its there in found.000, found.003 and found.004 but all the file names are like file0000.chk, file0001.chk etc. I googled a bit but I'm afraid to try the stuff they suggest as it's over 100gb of data. And no, I don't have enough space to back it up.

hmmmm, use a live cd such as knoppix to read the partitions without booting them up....if you boot them up then there is a risk of over-write.

use knoppix etc to copy file to usb or floppy etc

You could see if knoppix etc can open your mentioned files.


2) otherwise consider posting on a MSoft forum ?
