Restore default title bar in knoppix 8.1

Hi all,

Ok, yes, I'm posting here because I'm too embarassed to post anywhere else. I have knoppix v8.1 on USB. I love playing around with it and really like the feel. I recently changed a setting such that now I do not have the min, max, close buttons on window title bars. Also, whichever window is on top remains in focus, and clicking on windows underneath does not bring them to focus. I can only work in the most recently opened window.

Of course, I have no idea which setting I changed to create such a situation. I've tried to go back and undo it, to no avail. Can anyone point me in the right direction to restore the original default window title bar settings?

Is there a way to "factory reset" knoppix?

Thanks in advance, I appreciate your help.

Need some more info,
are you using LXDE? Do you have compiz enabled?
I've never used LXDE so cant give you any help on that but I'm sure someone else can point you in the right direction if they have all the details

in addition to the previous questions:

it sounds like your window manager isn't starting anymore.

If you reboot knoppix it should go back to what it was.

SOLVED:
I ran "(re) start 3D desktop compiz".
This solved the problem.
