Restarting Slimserver process

I am trying to restart my slimserver because it is locked. I think the filename is slimserver.pl and I am having trouble restarting it because I can't remember the command to restart a process. I also can't remember if I am in the right directory to restart it. My flavor is mandrake 10.1, can someone help me?

you can try and SIGHUP it try

ps ax |grep slimserver

and then

 kill -HUP PID

The first command gives you the PID for the second command.
I however, have no idea what slimserver is... so I might be way off.

Tried that and think I screwed something up. Oh well I will keep seeking an answer. Slimserver is a music streaming server program that uses ethernet to host your music so you can listen to it at home on any networked pc.
