resizing windows in mandriva 2007

For some time I have used Mandy 2007 ONE. Without much trouble. I am a complete novice, since everythimng I do is hit or miss. The only distro's I can use are those which work on my TKIP encrypted wireless router. Mandy 2008 also installed. I recently tried to update the media through add remove software. One of the windows that popped up was too long for me to click on the okay or cancel button at the bottom, so I tried resizing the window using both 'Special Windows settings...' and Special applications settings...' Now I have messed up all the settings for the add remove application and cannot see much at all. How can I undo without re-installing? Attempts to re-size in the manner of a Microsoft Windows environment only allowed me to make wider or narrower ( within limits)!

The window-specific settings are also accessible from the kde control center. Just find the one you created and delete it.

But there's no need to set up permanent settings for a temporary problem like that. By default you can move or resize windows in kde by holding down the alt key along with the left and right mouse buttons, or select the same commands in the window tab menu. You can change this in the control center >> window behavior if you want to use a different key.

Thank you David the H. I am now back to square one. Which is trying to update media. I have reduced the size of the window. After checking the boxes for which I want to update I cannot see an OK or a Cancel button, that I was hoping to find. I can only close the window and go back to the screen before it. I do not want to fiddle too much, because as I say I do not understand enough of what all the options ( and there seems to be a lot of them )do. I am now going to see if I can find some documentation that will explain to me the different kinds of windows. Normal, Dialog, Utility, Dock (Panel), etc. Thanks again for your help!
