Just thought I'd share the result. I've also made it scale my desktop terminal using xrandr and wmctrl. Everything is now nicely in proportion...

fyi, this will not work anymore sense VirtualBox has dropped the dependency on this script.

Please let me know if there is some way to launch a script when a screen is resized.
