Resizing partions

How would I resize partions, so that I can make a /home partion, and how would I configure that partion to be the /home partion? I could do it during the slackware install, but I don't want to reinstall.

I'm not sure about Slackware install process but you can use GParted http://gparted.sourceforge.net/ to resize partitions. You can get a ISO CD image which is bootable from their download section.

I downloaded gparted to a disk, and uploaded it to my laptop. I looked at the install .txt file, and it told me about compiling from sources, easy enough.

I run ./configure, all the text flies by.

I then run make, but it says something like:
Code:

make : specify file
not enitrlly accurate, but close.

I can't get make to work, so I can't compile it. ARGH!

You do not want to resize a mounted filesystem and so would use a liveCD as previously suggested.

qparted and qparted live CD are 2 different things in a way, qparted live CD is a live distro with qparted being its main application (from what i gathered, going to try it tomorrow).
