resize2fs: No space left on device While trying to add group #4
Hi All,
I'm new to Redhat. I'm Familiar with Hp Unix. Currently i made a setup of RHEL5.1 on system z. I'm tyring to extend the Volume.(ie)Logical volume of /var. It throws the error. But i was able to extend all other volemes. Please see the error & do the neeful at the earlies ! Step 1: - # lvextend -L 7G /dev/VolGroup00/LogVol02 Extending logical volume LogVol02 to 7.00 GB Logical volume LogVol02 successfully resized Step 2:- # resize2fs /dev/VolGroup00/LogVol02 resize2fs 1.39 (29-May-2006) Filesystem at /dev/VolGroup00/LogVol02 is mounted on /var; on-line resizing required Performing an on-line resize of /dev/VolGroup00/LogVol02 to 1835008 (4k) blocks. resize2fs: No space left on device While trying to add group #4 Step 3 :- Lvdisplay --- Logical volume --- LV Name /dev/VolGroup00/LogVol02 VG Name VolGroup00 LV UUID z29cYJ-xN1f-rkdd-Cl5G-BpAE-EK8j-Z9HB0h LV Write Access read/write LV Status available # open 1 LV Size 7.00 GB Current LE 224 Segments 2 Allocation inherit Read ahead sectors 0 Block device 253:3 Lvdisplay is showing 7GB but the resize is not working. |
If you can provide "lvmdump" result we can help you out.

could not attach the LVMDUMP file
I cud not find the attach Button to attach the lvmdump file. Could you pls give ur mail id so i can sent it to u...

I don't like online resizing, but I might try removing the journal first, and see how that goes.
After-thought: if you are running RHEL on zSeries, why not ask Redhat ???. You've paid for support (presumably). |
