resize an ext3 partition with coexisting ntfs partition
hi there,
i am a newbie to linux and i have just installed knoppix 3.3/debian on my laptop with a new compilied 2.6 kernel: my question is concerning the partitions: Gerät Boot Start End Blocks Id System /dev/hda1 * 1 1921 15430401 7 HPFS/NTFS /dev/hda2 1922 2432 4104607+ f W95 Ext'd (LBA) /dev/hda5 1922 2383 3710983+ 83 Linux /dev/hda6 2384 2432 393561 82 Linux Swap this is my partition table; i like to resize (grow) the linux partitions and make the ntfs partition with win xp on it smaller. do you have a hint for me to perform these changes without loosing data ? i thought of doing it under win with partition magic. what about changes with the lilo i am using ? i like to mention that i do not have a floppy in my laptop, so booting is only possible with a cd rom. hope for answers, thank you in advance.. |
resizing the NTFS can be done with Partition magic
the ext3 resizing... i don't know if PM can do that... |
