Repartitioning question.

I have Fedora core 3 installed on (2) 250 SATA drives.

I would like to remove FC3 and install Gentoo 2005. ( I pre ordered Gentoo disks today.)

Drives now are not in Raid config.
I just got a pci to sata contoller card to do raid 0 (striping).

What is the easiest way to repartition drives for the new install?

I did do a search here and on google to no avail.

Could I use Knoppix or other Live CD to repartition with qtparted?

-----------------------------
AMD64 3000+
1gig ram
evga geforce 6800
2-wd2500jd sata drives
3ware escalade 8006 contoller card
nec nd 3500 dvd drive.
----------------------------------

I just want gentoo. NO windows dual boot.

Thanks,
Blair

Just boot off the Gentoo disk, and *read* the handbook - it's very good.
It advises how to do the partitioning. No need to use any fancy tools that are designed to resize - just use [c]fdisk.

Easy as falling off a bike

I wanted Gentoo to see my 2 250 gig disks as 1 500 gig disk in raid 0. I figured I needed to repartition them to configure them in Raid 0 through contoller card.

Blair

Sorry - I'll step out of this thread right now.
I haven't investigated the RAID requirements.
