Repair boot/root after virtualization redhat on vmware

Hello Linux experts,

I have virtualized redhat linux 9.0 machine that use SCSI HDD with Adapptec 29320lpe scsi controller.
I have made an image of the existing system and restore it in vmware 14. Ofcoure I have ended up with kernel panic, since my vmware doesn't use drivers of scsi adapter.
I wonder if there is some way to repair boot of the system? I need somehow to unload the scsi driver.
More information is shown in the attached picture.

I know that redhat linux 9 is very old, but machine contains some specific application software and is not connected to Internet.
Main motivation for virtualization is dying HW, and support for the application doesn't exist any more.

Somehow I need to "reset" disk controller driver in order for boot to be successful.
Any help is highly appreciated.

Thank you very much.

P.S. On this web page: https://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/html_sing...-HOWTO/#AEN328
there is a section: "add aic79xx driver for Adaptec Ultra 320 controllers." What I really need is to undo this, so my linux system restored in vmware workstation can boot normally without trying to load scsi controller which is not there.
I need to somehow unload these scsi lib modules shown in the attachment

Try turning off and then on the necessary device through your BIOS or the device manager, they should get rebooted and start working properly

Hello guys,

I have succeeded to solve my problem. Luckily for me it seems that few more people had similar problems, so vmware placed in its knowledge base article about it. It was step by step guide how to solve the problem.

Here's the article!

In my case, there was a small difference. At first these step didn't solve the problem, but I've done it once again with after step nr. 8
"If the /etc/modules.conf file exists, edit it and remove any existing entries."
I executed mkinitrd command.

This can be useful for other guys that experience similar problem. I think this is important because there are people that wants to extend life of old applications on a new HW with virtualization.

Have a nice weekend.

P.S: changing BIOS option is not a way to solve this type of problems
