Removing/Purging ProFTPd

Hey

I just installed proftpd and attempted to get FXP working but failed and want to try another server. My problem is that I want to remove proftpd and I'm having some trouble.

I tried: apt-get --purge proftpd, however I get errors due to it being dependant on proftpd-common. I'm wondering if anyone else has come across this problem.

I used the package some time ago but I forget now how I removed it.

Thanks in advance for any help.

colabus -- if it's any consolation, I think we all have our own Homer Simpson "D'oh!!!" moments. Congrats on solving the problem. -- J.W.
