Removing Packages
Hello everyone,
I removed a package (dovecot) using "apt-get remove" but I still see several file listings on my server with the package name when I perform a "find" command. Would it be unwise to delete these files manually since they're not being used? I'm running Ubuntu Server 9.0.4 and have been tying for the past week and a half to install an IMAP server to no avail. I've tried Dovecot and Courier. I want to remove those packages in their entirety so as to perform a clean re-install. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ted |
apt-get purge,, apt-get remove leaves config files behind but removes the packages.
