Removing Linux + LILO

I orginally had WinXP installed. I then installed Slackware on a new partition. I now wish to remove Slackware and the LILO boot loader. When installing i wrote LILO to the MBR thinge. Now if i use lilo -u /dev/hda to uninstall LILO, i get an error on starting up "missing operating system". (Luckily i had a slackware boot disk lying around to replace lilo). So how can I get rid of Slackware and LILO, but leave WinXP?

I'd say you could probably boot into recovery with your XP CD, and do "fixmbr".

I dont have a win XP Cd, but i can get into the recovery thinge. From there it asks which i wanted to go 2, F:\MININT (or something similar), and C:\WINDOWS

I chose C:\windows, typed fixmbr, restarted, and got the same error as I did frm removing LILO. Any other ideas?

I think I have used FDISK /MBR on Windows (maybe the same as fixmbr).
Then the important thing is to make the Windows partition to the
"active" partition. This can be done with fdisk either on Linux or Windows.
