Angry removing GRUB

Well, I am selling one of my PC to a friend that doesnt want dual booted RH 9.0 and Win 2000Pro.

So I inserted my Win2k CD and went to fix the mbr. It said it was going to reboot after it was completed.

It rebooted and I get
"GRUB version 0.93 (639K lower / 104596k upper memory)
[Minimal BASH-like line editing is supported. For the first word, TAB list possible command completions. Anywhere els TAB list possible completions of a device/filename]

oh o..what happened?

Are they installed in separate harddrives? If possible try booting with a dos/win98 bootdisk and use 'fdisk /mbr'

Have a similar problem w/ a laptop with Windows 2K and GRUB.
Win2K installed after Linux, and Win2K keeps rewriting MBR
w/ "MBR" message. Then used linux's fdisk w/ option a to change
bootable partition away from Win2K partition.

Even tried using Knoppix bootable CD to delete and re-copy all GRUB files.
Still get "root>" prompt as you do.
Maybe using tomsrtbt boot disk and putting on LILO will help (do NOT want Win2K as default in MBR!)
