Removing grub?

I had red hat linux installed on a compaq laptop and needed to reisntall windows XP to sell it. Everything went ok untill rebooting when all I get is grup flashing in the corner. So I'm asssuming windows didn't write over the MBR. How do install windows MBR or set up grup to load windows?

I've only got the recovery CD's that came with the laptop.

OPTION 1

Download knoppix
Right click your hard drive, set read-write permissions
Locate the grub loader file (sorry... don't remember the name :-\ )
Change where it tries to load from to Windows XP
Voila

OPTION 2

Get a windows 98 boot disc
Fdisk your hard drive
Format your hard drive
Reinstall Windows XP and all will be good again.
