Removing all applications from KNOPPIX - remaster

I'd like to remove all applications from knoppix and KDE.

I've used commands while remastering to remove KDE and open office.
- apt-get remove --purge openoffice-de-en
- apt-get --purge remove kde.*

But how would I go about SAFELY removing ALL applications? What I would like to do is have a nice clean application sturucture, and only have applications that I use installed within Knoppix.

Also, I want to have fluxbox as my Window Manager, any help on this would be awesome too!

Any help would be awesome!

I infer that you are talking about the live CD version---and that you want to make a new CD with the simplified version.

It's easy:
  1. remove all the application binaries
  2. remove all the libraries that were only used by specific apps
  3. remove all relevant config files
  4. modify who-knows-how-many scripts
  5. modify the menus
  6. make a CD, boot it, and discover what's still not right
  7. repeat 1-6 as required

I think LFS might be easier.....;)

I was thinking LFS would be easier too. I may go this route. Thanks!
