Remove setfacl

I had removed the permissions from the directory which was set through setfacl but I am seeing a "+" sign while listing the directory as,

[root@nisserver /]# ls -ld testdir
drwxr-xr-x+ 2 root root 4096 Oct 11 03:39 testdir

How to remove the "+" sign & what does that mean ?

-b, --remove-all
Remove all extended ACL entries. The base ACL entries of the owner, group and others are retained.
From the man page for setfacl
