remove rights from a user

Hallo!

I created a normal user and I would like to remove the most rights as possible from this user. I would like this user to have the possibility to copy in his home folder just .jpg and .mp3 and give him the possibility to run ONLY the programs I want, for example skype and firewall.

Hope you can help me
Thanks

I haven't done anything similar myself, but I believe you're comming short with userrights if you are using the standard unixrights. To exclude apps. to run from one specific user, you will have to use ACL.

You could create a chroot'ed environment for them to let them do whatever they want without messing up your server: hacktavista [ dot ] com / howto / chroot_slackware.html ( Apparently I'm not allowed to post urls? )
