Remove grub/Redhat 9

I recently want to remove my redhat 9 installation. I did that buy just deleting it off the partition of the Hard drive (its on a separate one from XP) but when I tried to boot into windows again grub said something along the lines of stage 2 and I have to load the kernel.

Grub is installed on my windows hard drive/partition and I cant find it to remove it. If anyone has advice on how I can just install a new linux OS over Redhat or remove grub and redhat together thank you. I'd like to replace it with Damn Small but I'm a complete newbie to linux.

Again thank you for any help.

Sparkfist

P.S. sorry if this question has been answered I couldn't find it in the searches I did.

this is becouse when u installed the bootloader for ur rh (grub) it installed it to the MBR (Master Boot Recored) so each time u boot u get grub becouse mbr is the 1st 512kb on the 1st sector of the hardisk so it comes during the bios POST (power on self test) procsses. now along with grub in the mbr there is also the xp boot files also in the mbr and they are (i/o.sys,msdos.sys,command.com),now i dont know if u used parted or fdisk to remove linux but both of them has commands to remove the grub from the mbr so it will be boot only windows by default so ither u remove grub from the mbr using fdisk or parted from the rh rescure mod, or u boot the xp disk wait untill it finish loding then press R to go into repair console then write "fixmbr" and say y when it asks u to overwrite it. goodluck
