Remote X
 
Can some please tell me how to get remote X working ? <-- step by step

(i want to go from my linux box to my PC using XP displaying the gui of linux)

i get stuck on Xhost + (or anything)
keeps on saying
xhost: unable to open display ""

please some 1 help
i'm a complet n00b at this :)

do you have an Xserver configured for windows XP? you will need and X running up on both ends, try something like Cygwin for your windows xp box and see if you can't configure it's X server to accept X from your linux box, as for the mandrake end i can't help you nor can i help you with configuring cygwin as i really havn't tried it myself., best of luck

i used x-win32 but need full version because only lasts 4 30 mins then u have to restart it grrrrrr
same with winaXe

heh, cool, i would still reccomend cygwin if you can, http://www.cygwin.com

U can try CYGWIN and Tera Term Pro to do the X-Forwarding.. I can post the steps if U R interested.
