Remote Shell from Linux to Solaris?
I currently back up 2 Solaris boxes, which use a remote shell to utilise the tape drive of one box to back up both servers.
I'm looking to do a similar thing using Linux, GentooX to be specific. I would like to back up my GentooX installation using a Solaris 9 server with a tape drive via remote shell. Can anyone give me some help with this, if it's even possible? Cheers! :) |
Which program do you use? It may be ported.

Solaris' standard "rsh" command, which then uses "ufsdump". I'm hoping there may be a Linux version I can "emerge" in GentooX, but my GentooX installation's "emerge" function is not working at the moment. I will be reinstalling it soon, though, when Home v4.0 is released.
