Remote Server Setup between Linux(Cent os (BSD)) & Sun Solaris

I am trying to Setup remote server with client as Sunsolaris and Host as Linux(Centos).
The thing is i want to share a directory Remote_Local_Dir with the client abnd i dont the how to share directory basically between Client and host.
CAny anyone HELp!!!!

You could use NFS:

man nfs
man exports
man mount

or Samba:

man samba
man smb.conf
man mount
man smbmount

For a Unix/Linux only system, NFS is probably easiest. Essentially, either system uses config files '/etc/smb.conf' or '/etc/exports' (server side) to describe what is being shared, and a server daemon to perform the actual sharing. The client side uses mount to make the shared directory visible on the client filesystem.

Have a look at the man pages, and give it a try. Come back here for more help with specific issues.

Samba is a poor choice for Solaris as a client because smbfs isn't yet implemented.

NFS is really what you want to do. On the Solaris side there is usually nothing to configure. Just use the automounter to access NFS shares.

eg. /net/<servername>/<shared-directory>

By the way, Centos is not BSD.

I think i managed to fire it up as previously when i was trying to mount it on client side it was giving me some error like Premission denied on my directory which i was sharing with client system but when i tries with GUI enabled file sharing method by going into SYSTEM>System Configuration
But really thanx this helped me a lot as i was still not sure but now all set
