remote desktop to Raspberrypi

Hi All,

I am not sure how difficult. I have tried tightvnc. Here is how I want, we have one of the respberrypi for monitoring the network. at the moment we have keyboard and mouse attached and if we have to do something like opening the browser and stuff , we use wireless kb and mouse to control it. But I have been trying to control it remote by VNC, so we dont have to go across to there, but so far I got from VNC is just bringing the new desktop connection. Not the one I am seeing on the monitor. Is there any trick to it.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply, it works right on the spot. For those who are looking for how it was done,
extracted from this post http://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/vi...108862#p108862
steps:
install and set password
- sudo apt-get install x11vnc
- x11vnc -storepasswd

create autostart entry

- cd .config
- mkdir autostart
- cd autostart
- nano x11vnc.desktop
- paste following text:

[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Type=Application
Name=X11VNC
Comment=
Exec=x11vnc -forever -usepw -display :0 -ultrafilexfer
StartupNotify=false
Terminal=false
Hidden=false

Then restart the pi, install tightvnc viewer , then connect to Pi with ipaddress:5900 .

Thanks again for your help mrclisdue

Or just use ssh and forward the X window for the monitoring application.
