See: http://www.linux.com/feature/124908
To connect a windows box to a Linux box see: http://fedoranews.org/tchung/vnc/ |
Install tightvnc and run a vncserver on the fedora box, and use the windows tightvnc viewer to view that server.

One quick question, what desktop would u recomend, Gnome or KDE ?

Neither one is perfect and each have thier pros and cons.

Something lighter than either of those, if you're about to bring it over the network. XFCE, Fluxbox, ...

Woot - If you're gonna do the remote thing.. You can also use X11 forwarding if you enable it in putty which will allow you to access all your X applications from a remote shell connection.

I would definitely recommend KDE. I actually find it more user friendly than Windoze.

I use Cygwin on my XP Box here at work to access my machine at home. I just start a cygwin session, then start an Xwindows session, then connect to my remote machine via ssh. (ie: ssh -Y -l ...)
Then I can run any XWindows apps remotely with control and display here at work... |
