Remote access to Linux

Hello, need your help how to access my linux box remotely.
My goal: being able to access my linux box both using web interface and from android based tablet. Before I used to use Logmein and/or Splashtop. Now it looks that neither Logmein nor Splashtop are supported on linux.
Well I'm running Fedora 16. First I tried to to enable 'Desktop Sharing' utility but then I gave up because I didn't get how I could access it from browser.
Then I decided to install TightVNC server and now it's up and running and I could use vnc connection from another vnc client on my home network using .
Here are questions:
1. will I be able to access my box using vnc client from outside of my home network?
2. how I could access my box using not vnc client but Web browser?
Could someone please help me with my issue?
