i plan to re-install, actually format AND reinstall rh7.. my previous box has been up almost 2 years now without reinstallation or reformatting.. it has served me well. i'd like to know what are the security, stability patches i need to re-install along with my rh7.. any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks
Umm... if its working without a problem why reinstall? Linux isn't Windows and doesn't need wiping off and starting again just becuase a little time has passed!
As for what patches you would need, that would be Red Hat 7.2 (then run up2date).
i forgot to mention, lately there has been quite a number of power interruptions here, my box doesnt have a UPS or any other power backup set. it has caused a number of system file errors when checked. making me manually e2fsck it again and again.. im thinking there might be bad sectors already thats why sytem file check keeps on getting inconsistencies.. thats why i have to re-install because im changing hard-disks..
