If I'm reading your post correctly, what your asking is how to install lilo in the mbr from your slackware partition.

The simple way is to use the command liloconfig as root.

This will bring up the same type script that was run during the install.

Normally, you can boot the Linux install disc and type:
Code:
linux rescue
To repair/reinstall a Linux boot loader. As for the exact proceedure for Slack, ??

i got to install lilo in mbr.
i searched around a little bit more and found the following method quite useful:

1.boot from cd
2.use "liloconfig"
3.add linux and window partitions
4.add install lilo in mbr
5.reboot

thanks anyway...

A heck of allot easier/simpler than that second link I found, it didn't look plausible to me neither.

nick021,
I don't know if your planning on using other partitions or maybe you have already got several OS on your box but there is a "Grub" package in extra on Slackware-11. Lilo is great but linux is about choice so at some point you may want to try Grub for me it's just easy because you never have to run "lilo" if your changing things up. If your interested you will install the package in extra, and run grubconfig just like you did for lilo.
