reinstalling grub on rescue mode

I'm running Redhat 9 and I need some help on re-installing grub. when I reinstalled windows, the grub boot loader didn't work anymore. I used to reinstall grub, booting with the RH9 bootdisk.

The thing is, I damaged my floppy drive, so I need to re-install grub using cd. I can login to rescue mode, but grub-install didn't work. It had an error message about running the kernel.

So how do I go about doing this? how can I re-install grub using linxu rescue???

Do you know what partition your Linux root is on?

yes.. I know where my linux partitions are. so How do I do this

I am assume you are familiar with using "linux rescue". If so, all you need to do is chroot into your Redhat root (/) partiton and do "grub-install /dev/hda" to install it to the MBR (assuming /dev/hda is your master hard disk).
