reinstalled windows in dual boot,,,grub disappeared,,,help
hi
im sure this is a very common problem,i tried to search for the answer in other threads but without success,,,,i had a dual boot ,,xp,,n opensuse 10.2,,,all was fine till i had to reinstall my windows,,,now my grub screen doesnt show up,,n i cant open my linux,,,dont want to reinstall it,,plz let me know if there's a way out,,,,m a noob so plz be precise...thnx
To be more precise, boot Linux from your CD in rescue mode (the SuSE CD should have a rescue option) and run grub-install /dev/whatever where /dev/whatever is your boot hard drive. You will want to check your grub config afterward to make sure there is an entry to boot Windows and re-add it if need be (generally though this would be done automatically).
hey thanks guys,,,i'll surely try it out,,,though im not sure whether i'll be abe to do stuff with the config file,,,catch u later if there r probs,,,thanks again
