Thumbs down Reh Hat Linux 9 Installation troubleshooting.

Hai.I am having 40 gb hard disk in which 10 gb is left unformatted for linux installation.
While I booted my system with the Red Hat Linux 9 cd,
I pressed enter to go into installation of the same.
Then I tested my disc 1 and it has got passed.
Then i selected continue.
These messages were appearing,

Running anaconda....etc.
Probing for monitor - Plilips
Probing for keyboard - Keyboard
Probing for mouse - Ps/2

after this something comes like "starting x server" and the monitor gets off.And i could not proceed to the next step.

Please email me the answer to

It seems like Redhat 9 is having some sort of hardware detection problem. Have you tried Fedora Core 4, its the replacement for Redhat 9 and below which are now obsolete and no longer recieve support and updates from Redhat.
