registering with redhat
 

Hello,

I am recieving the error message - invalid user name when I go through the process of registering for redhat updates.

the user id i was using was chlawren or lawrenzo or clawren1

has anyone any idea what this is related to?

could it because I have a copy of the redhat cd's?

Try signing in to the Red Hat Network Web interface on redhat.com with your username/password. If that doesn't work then follow the instructions on the website to recover your account details.

I'm assuming that you are using Red Hat Enterprise Linux. If you are running Fedora then you don't need to register anything - the "yum" update process works with no signup.
