Hi, Welcome to LQ,

Maybe the internal office network blocks certain domains. Have you tried to find a group of websites not accessible from the office? Maybe there is a pattern. Have you contacted your network manager/systems engineer about this?

The problem is probably not Debian.

Hi Aragorn,
Thank you for your reply. We are not restricting any sites or domains. In bind server we have 3 zones. In that 2 zones are working fine, but 1 more zone is not working. But with the ip address it is working perfect in the internal network. With the domain name it is not working.

I think you need to offer a little bit more information about your DNS servers and configuration files.

What happens when you query the dns server for a website that doesn't work? What's the DNS server's response?

Hostname has been defined on your DNS server?

Are you able to ping the hostname from the local network?

Local Hostname on the Web server configuration is also set?

I think you've got the cause of your problem there. Since the direct IP address works, it means that the network is fine. It could be that your computer is not set up properly to get access to the DNS. What does your /etc/resolv.conf say?
