i could not enable compiz. it is shown in the menu but it does not start and i also could not enable desktop effects. i have nvidia drivers gforce 7000m but they are not installed.?
It would help to know which distro you're using. My desktop system has on-board GeForce 9100 graphics. I can run compiz successfully in Fedora 11, Fedora 12, And Mint 8, but Ubuntu 9.10 has been problematic.
you will need to install your nvidia drivers first. It requires 3d acceleration for it to work. another way would be to start compiz from a command line and post any errors that it throws.
